How many children come up with wild and crazy ideas for bold inventions, usually using some kind of robot to accomplish their goals? What if those children could be empowered to make those ideas come to life? Robotics is a combination of engineering and coding. In today’s world, introduction to both engineering and coding can start as young as four years old!

The push for STEM education comes from a rapid acceleration in STEM based jobs while a low number of students are pursuing STEM degrees. It directly targets girls who are vastly under-represented in the fields due to societal expectations. But the true beauty in the STEM initiative is that it fosters and promotes big dreams and creativity as it encourages hands-on learning that results in actual creations.

Coding a robot to say “Hello” is hysterically delightful to young children. It motivates them to see what else they can do. The key to STEM is to find an instructor who can make the subject attainable for a student. When you empower students thusly, they get set on a track for a STEM degree.

Even if they’re not looking for a STEM career, per se, more and more jobs have a STEM component as our digital age. Students with a STEM degree make on average $10,000 more annually in a non-STEM career than non-STEM degree students make in the same career. So nurture those big dreams into hobbies that will really pay off!
